Bend Birth Center | Hands-On Assistance For Your Pregnancy

Bend Birth Center has offered licensed midwifery care for the greater Bend area since 2006. They provide one-on-one prenatal, birth, postpartum and well-baby care in a loving and respectful environment. The Bend Birth center comprises two licensed midwives and two midwife apprentices. They have over 50 years of experience combined and thousands of births, so you know you are receiving the best care possible.

About the Bend Birth Center

Bend Birth Center specializes in individualized visits focusing on education and counseling while providing continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, postpartum support, and newborn care. When ready for labor, you will arrive at the cutest little stone house surrounded by lush green trees and the most relaxing environment possible. Or you can choose to labor at home.

The midwives here share the latest evidence regarding pregnancy and labor. Clients then decide and create their own individualized path of care. They work collaboratively with a fantastic community of pregnancy and postpartum specialists, including having a lactation consultant on staff. Lab work is done in-office, and they can refer you to local radiologists for ultrasounds. In addition, they provide the standard schedule of prenatal visits and extensive postpartum care, including having those visits take place in the comfort of your own home.

Services

Bend Birth Center also offers midwifery services for postpartum services. A complete postpartum package includes three home visits in the first week and three clinic visits at 2, 4, and 6 weeks. Custom tailor a postpartum package that suits you and your family best. Postpartum care includes nursing support, weight checks, newborn metabolic screening and testing, and well-woman care.

Offering 24-hour turnaround placenta preparations, the Center strives to continue the “mothering of the mother” through postpartum. The website has free resources for breastfeeding support that you can access at any time to assist you throughout your new journey. They offer encapsulation, tinctures, and custom herb blends for your placenta and will prepare it for you after your birth. They also offer an umbilical keepsake, in which the umbilical cord is set in a simple spiral and dehydrated. These services are extra add-ons, and you must register for them before your birth. So be sure to mention them in your consultation if you are interested.

Payments and Insurance

Most insurance companies will cover Bend Birth Center midwifery care and out-of-hospital birth as out-of-network providers. Without insurance, Bend Birth Center accepts cash, checks, or credit. They also offer a variety of payment plans. The fee for prenatal care, labor and delivery, and six weeks of postpartum care for both mother and baby is $6,200.
