While I've been photographing newborns for over 4 years, somehow this was my first set of twins. Twin newborn photography is a whole new ballgame, but these sweet parents were hands-on during the session allowing us to get lots of great pictures of their sweet babies.
The Hartung Family
I already got to know this wonderful family during mom's maternity session; and it was at this session that big brother stole my heart. Partners and siblings are always included in the sessions, but sometimes toddlers can be quite camera shy or not cooperative. Not this sweet 3 year old.
The Dearing Family
While it is always best to book your newborn photography session ahead of time, I was able to fit this sweet family in my schedule at the last minute. I just got to see Brady and his parents return to celebrate and commemorate his 1st birthday with a cake smash photography session.
Newborn Macro Portraits
No detail is too small or insignificant to photograph. As part of your newborn photography session I make sure to capture all of your little one's special features with my macro lens, allowing me to narrow the focus and highlight what makes them unique: extra long lashes, crinkly noses, pucker lips, wrinkly feet, innies and outies, and last but not least their tiny toes and fingers.

They're only tiny like this for fleeting moment in time. Let me capture you, your family, your newest little addition and all that makes them unique, in the comfort of my Klamath Falls photography studio. All you have to do is bring yourself. I have a large collection of fabrics, outfits and props to custom design your newborn photography session.

Let me know your due date! I recommend booking your newborn session as early in your pregnancy as possible. While we don't know the exact birthdate of baby, I only take a few newborns per month to allow for flexibility in getting your session scheduled -ideally- within 2 weeks after you give birth. Contact me as soon as you can after delivery to get you on the calendar.

2. Planning for your Session
I will send you a session prep guide that will guide you on what type of outfit options you and any other family members who are participating in the portrait session. I do offer you access to my client closet that includes toddler to 4T outfits. The guide will also go into a bit more detail on what to expect during the session. Most of the fabrics is use to style the images are white, grey and neutral toned, but I do have some color options. Please let me know any color preferences you have. I recommend keeping the styling of your house and nursery in mind, so that the final art work coordinates with your interior design.
3. The session
Newborn sessions take place in my home studio, where I have my very large lighting set-up and all of the props that are used throughout the session. As the session is very much baby let, most newborn sessions last ~3+ hours, allowing for soothing and feeding breaks. I always include your partner or other children. If there are siblings we will start with family and sibling portraits, and then it is best if you plan for your partner or other family member to take the sibling home or somewhere nearby, as my studio is snug and warm and the time can be quite long for a small child.
4. After the session
You will receive a soft-edited proofing gallery within 1 week of your session. From this you will choose your favorites. These are the images that I will fully "polish" to create art pieces commemorating this special time in your life. I will deliver your final images to you via digital download gallery, within 2 weeks of you making your selections.
5. your photographs
Portraits aren't meant to live on a hard-drive or social media. PLEASE PRINT YOUR IMAGES! They are tangible memories, and art meant to be shared for generations. For your convenience, I will also send you a link to your gallery with a professional quality photo-lab, through which you can order prints or products at cost. I recommend hanging newborn portraits in your baby's nursery and/ or a family collage wall. Hardbound albums are my favorite way to share portraits, as you don't have to worry about where to hang them, and they can be passed on to the next generation.

We had a shoot with Mariel to get some newborn shots of our twin boys. They were two months old, a little late for typical newborn shots but Mariel was still able to get them in the most precious posed (I have no idea how). Can’t recommend Mariel enough! We first met when we had newborn photos done. We were so happy with the experience that there was no question we would have her do our baby’s one year birthday/cake smash photos as well. We have also had family photos with her!
